Ring in the New Year NOLA Style!

By Gardner Realtors | December 10, 2018

Like it or not, New Year’s Eve is a big deal. It’s a time to get dressed up and celebrate all that was in the past 365 days and look forward to the next year to come. Sure, it may be fun to watch the ball drop in Times Square as the clock strikes midnight. But let’s be honest, those people look really, really cold! We think you can have just as much fun right here in New Orleans. If you need any more convincing, Travel & Leisure agrees.

Here’s a list of parties and events going on in the Crescent City to help you ring in the New Year!

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - MAY 5th: View of unidentified people on Bourbon Street at night in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana on May 5th, 2016.

Jackson Square

This is the Times Square ball drop, NOLA style. Like most days, Jackson Square is the ultimate meet-up spot, so get there early, and be ready for the fleur de lis to drop at midnight!

Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve

The Central Time Zone has a big TV countdown of its own and it’s happening right on the Riverfront. The legendary Dick Clark will be broadcasting live from NOLA while Ryan Seacrest is in New York. There will be a big concert (previous performers include Imagine Dragons) and fireworks will conclude the show at midnight.

Big Night New Orleans New Year’s Eve Gala

This may be New Orleans’ biggest NYE party. This all-inclusive party takes place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and features 10 music acts, an award-winning buffet, an open bar, party favors and ZERO long lines.

Bourbon Vieux

Crescent City Countdown

Experience NOLA fully with a meal in the French quarter before you head over to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Fest stage near Jackson Square for this FREE event. The countdown to midnight concludes with the fleur de lis drop atop the Jax Brewery, and the Symphony in the Sky, the fireworks show over the MS River!

Zoo Year’s Eve

Take a walk on the wild side with your kids this New Year’s Eve at the Audubon Zoo. From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. there will be live music, games, prizes, and a countdown to Noon. The event is free for Audubon members or included with Zoo admission.

Revellion Dinners

Whether you’re looking for a long dinner with apps and cocktails or simply a delicious meal before the celebration begins, a Revellion dinner is an awesome New Year’s plan. A Creole tradition since the 1800s, a ton of New Orleans’ finest restaurants are offering delicious four-course holiday feasts for you and your date(s)!

DJ Soul Sister’s NYE Soul Train

Back for its 16th annual edition, DJ Soul Sister brings her funky NOLA mixes to the Civic Theater on the night of the 31st. Get your tickets here.
